Stone mosaic carpet in Hamburg

Coloured stone gravel mixed with resin was used to make this beautiful mosaiclike oriental carpet which adorns the Wilhelminen bridge in Hamburg Hafen City. Sculptor Frank Raendchen was commissioned by the Körber foundation in 2010 to do this piece of public art.

These were two small commisions i receieved at the end of last year for two suprise christmas presents, the spec was to do what ever i wanted but a cat and a dog would be nice somewhere amongst the fish, finger, fly and bones. Some of the tiles were fired with digital ceramic decals.
